14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi becomes the youngest centurion in men’s T20 cricket history with a remarkable 101 off 38 balls for Rajasthan Royals.
Historic Century in IPL
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, at just 14 years old, made history on Monday by becoming the youngest centurion in men’s Twenty20 cricket. He led Rajasthan Royals to an eight-wicket win over Gujarat Titans in an IPL match.
Powerful Batting Display
Suryavanshi’s explosive 101 runs off 38 balls included 11 sixes and seven fours. His 100 came off just 35 balls, making it the second-fastest century in IPL history. Rajasthan chased down Gujarat’s target of 210 in 15.5 overs.
Buttler and Archer Watch in Awe
Rajasthan’s Jos Buttler, the former England captain, played an unbeaten knock of 50 runs off 26 balls and had a close view of Suryavanshi’s thrilling performance. Jofra Archer was also among the Royals players celebrating the victory.
Suryavanshi’s Rise to Stardom
Following his incredible century, Suryavanshi was named Player of the Match. In the post-match presentation, the teenager shared, “It feels like a dream to score a century in the IPL. I’ve been practicing for months, and it’s showing.”
Support from Teammates
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryavanshi’s opening partner, praised his performance, saying, “Incredible innings, one of the best I’ve seen. He’s got the game, the mentality, and the temperament to keep performing at this level.”
Impressive Cricket Journey
Suryavanshi first made headlines when he became the youngest player to earn an IPL contract at the age of 13. He made his debut this month and immediately showcased his talent with a six off the first ball he faced. Last year, he played in the Ranji Trophy at 12 and has also represented India’s Under-19 team, scoring a century against Australia.
