A stunning lakeside campsite in Utah offers visitors a chance to enjoy nature without sacrificing comfort. Nestled within Yuba State Park near Scipio, Sandy Beach Campground provides a picturesque setting with sandy beaches, mountain views, and mesmerizing sunsets, making it a perfect spot for camping enthusiasts seeking both adventure and relaxation.
Located roughly 120 miles south of Salt Lake City, between Levan and Scipio, Yuba Lake is a hidden gem well known for boating, fishing, swimming, jet-skiing, and paddling. Among the camping options along this beautiful lake, Sandy Beach stands out as a premier destination.
Spanning 350 acres of lakefront property, Sandy Beach Campground offers 16 unique lodging options including glamping tents, a tiny home, vintage Airstream trailers, glamping pods, and a charming beach bungalow. For those who prefer their own gear, there are 17 spacious sites (55 feet long) for RVs or tents. While no hookups or Wi-Fi are available, the campground ensures a comfortable and scenic stay for all visitors.
Amenities vary by accommodation type, but every guest enjoys access to fire pits, bathroom facilities, showers, and breathtaking views of the lake. Glamping units come equipped with modern comforts such as cozy beds, seating areas, electricity, heating, and cooling.
Accommodations generally sleep two to three guests, making the site ideal for small families or romantic escapes. Larger groups can reserve RV or tent sites, which can host up to 12 people. Most RV spaces accommodate vehicles under 34 feet, including travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, pop-up campers, and campervans. These pull-through spots allow slide-outs, but Class A, B, or C motorhomes are not permitted. Generators are allowed for additional convenience.
Visitors wake to breathtaking sunrises reflecting off the shimmering lake, with ample opportunities for swimming, kayaking, boating, and fishing throughout the day. Kayaks and paddle boards are available to rent on-site. Beyond the water, guests can explore Yuba State Park’s biking and OHV trails or venture 60 miles northeast to Little Sahara Recreation Area, famous for its vast sand dunes and ATV rides, ideal for both kids and adults.
After a day full of outdoor fun, guests return to Sandy Beach to witness stunning sunsets over distant mountains. Evenings are perfect for gathering around the campfire, roasting s’mores, and marveling at the star-filled sky — all part of the enchanting experience that makes Sandy Beach Campground a dreamy vacation spot in Utah.
