Injured Hiker Rescued After Overnight Ordeal on Bluff Knoll

Two hikers have been rescued from Bluff Knoll more than 24 hours after one of them suffered an ankle injury.

Emergency services, including the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, St John WA, and WA Police, were called to the popular hiking destination around 6:30pm on Saturday to assist the injured male hiker.

Authorities established contact with the man and his female hiking companion, who assured responders that they had enough supplies to safely camp overnight on the mountain.

The rescue operation concluded successfully at approximately 9:20pm on Sunday, when both hikers were brought down from the mountain.

The injured man was then transported to Albany Health Campus for further medical treatment.

Bluff Knoll, located within the Stirling Range National Park, is the highest peak in the region and is known for its challenging four-hour return hike.
