Hipcamp, the leading app for finding and booking campsites, today unveiled its inaugural list of the 50 Favorite Places to Camp in America Right Now—just in time for the summer season. With a mission to encourage more people to enjoy the outdoors, Hipcamp analyzed data from over 500,000 campsites across every state, highlighting exceptional sites on private lands, public parks, and RV resorts across 30 states, including locations on the Navajo Nation.
This curated list was created using several factors such as positive camper reviews, regional popularity, cultural trends, and thoughtful editorial discussion. It features a blend of well-known historic parks and lesser-known hidden gems, all celebrated by campers and Hipcamp editors alike. The selected sites offer stunning views, handy amenities, peaceful escapes, and unique experiences tailored for solo adventurers, families, and everyone in between.
Alyssa Ravasio, CEO and Founder of Hipcamp, said, “We’re thrilled to share our very first list of the 50 favorite camping spots in America right now. As the peak camping season kicks off, this diverse collection offers something for every kind of camper. We’re also proud to showcase off-the-beaten-path treasures and campgrounds that are bouncing back from natural disasters. By spotlighting these favorite places, we hope to make it easier for campers to find an outdoor experience they’ll truly enjoy.”
Some highlighted sites from Hipcamp’s list include:
Village Camp Flagstaff, AZ
Sunset View Campground, Navajo Nation, AZ
Boulder Creek RV Resort, CA
Buttonwood Campground, Florida Keys, FL
Sacred Nectar Sanctuary, NH
Santa Fe Treehouse Camp, NM
Goat Farm Hide-Away, OH
Mt. Hood Enchanted Forest, OR
Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp, UT
Rusty Ranch Tree Farm and Forest, WA
Bill and Megan Wright, owners of Utah’s Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp, shared their excitement: “We’re honored to be named one of Hipcamp’s 50 Favorite Campgrounds. Hosting guests from around the world and helping them unplug and enjoy nature has been a true joy. Sharing our historic ranch and wide-open skies—especially on horseback—is a unique experience we cherish. Thank you to everyone who’s visited and supported us.”
Similarly, Chad and Cynthia Tuttle of C2T Ranch in Kansas praised Hipcamp: “Hosting campers has been incredibly rewarding. We’ve met wonderful people and discovered the joy of sharing our special place, creating a valuable income stream. Hipcamp’s platform connects us to those looking for meaningful camping experiences, and we look forward to many more years of hosting.”
All campgrounds on the 50 Favorite Places to Camp list are available on the Hipcamp app, which provides real-time booking availability. Each listed site will also feature a Hipcamp Favorite badge, helping campers easily spot the best places for their next adventure.
Last month, Hipcamp announced it had doubled its U.S. campsite inventory to over 500,000 listings. This expansion makes Hipcamp the first and only app to unify campsites nationwide—from national parks to private farms—offering the largest selection of outdoor destinations in the country.
