If you’re planning to buy a new tent this summer, here’s great news: a leading outdoor retailer is offering a full refund on tents at the end of the season—regardless of how much you’ve used them.
At Advnture, we’re big fans of investing in durable 2-person and family tents designed to last for years. Yet, festival culture has driven a rise in single-use camping gear. In the UK alone, about 250,000 tents are abandoned at festivals each year, adding significantly to the environmental impact of outdoor events.
To tackle this growing problem, French retailer Decathlon is launching its Summer Tent Pledge for 2025. Customers who purchase any Decathlon tent between June 9 and September 14, either online or in-store, can return it before September 14 for a full refund in the form of a gift card—no matter how often it’s been used.
This offer specifically targets festival-goers and seasonal campers who tend to buy inexpensive tents and leave them behind after minimal use. Decathlon highlights models like the Quechua MH100 Fresh&Black, praised for staying cool in hot weather, as ideal choices.
However, there are important terms: tents that are damaged, stained, wet, contaminated, altered, or significantly reduced in resale value won’t qualify for return.
To benefit, buyers must be Decathlon Members at the time of return and provide proof of purchase when bringing the tent back to any Decathlon store before September 14, 2025. The refund will be given as a Decathlon gift card.
Beyond preventing tents from ending up in landfills, the buyback initiative supports Decathlon’s Second Life program, which offers campers affordable options to upgrade their gear. Whenever possible, returned tents will be resold second-hand online or in stores, extending their lifespan and reducing waste.
