The Nepali Army has successfully rescued a 13-year-old boy who went missing on May 14 while returning from a family hiking trip in the Jamacho hills of Kathmandu.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, the boy was discovered alive but injured, approximately 600 meters below a steep cliff in the forested area.
A search and rescue team from the Bhairavdal Battalion, based in the Nagarjun forest, was deployed immediately after the Army was informed of the missing child. After an extensive search effort, the team located the boy in a deep gorge within the forest.
The rescue team provided immediate first aid at the site before transferring him to the National Trauma Centre in Kathmandu for further medical treatment.
The boy, a resident of Gongabu Ganeshthan, is currently receiving care at the trauma center. His condition is reported to be stable.
